STAND
Schools Together Allowing No Drugs
Tracking data is a necessary function in the evaluation of a program's success. Many opponents of school drug testing programs often claim that these programs do not work or do not achieve anymeasureable results. While STAND can not make any claims about programs in other school systems, we can show some very positive results for the testing program within our own community. The chart below tracks testings results over the past 7 years. Non-negative results are those specimens that contain one or more of seven substances (THC, amphetamines, cocaine, opiates, phenyclidine, barbituates, benzodiazepines) without a valid prescription.

Drug Education & Counseling
Counseling sessions are conducted on an average of eight weeks for all students testing positive.
Other services are provided to students and parents through school assemblies, newsletters,
pamphlets, and special community events, like Red Ribbon Week. STAND is currently serving
students in grades 6-12, but is commited to expanding counseling services to all children
with significant risk factors to allow more therapeutic intervention than is presently available. more info
Funding
The funding history of STAND is a collaboration of community fund raising and grants. Support from
private trusts, state and federal grants, local governmental agencies, and local industry have made
our progress possible. To continue we must rely on innovative fund raising practices and creative grant
writing. more info
